Our private fitness and workout facility is nestled in Willow Glen and offers in-person training as well as online training and nutrition coaching options. I am Matt Rando, owner of Willow Glen Workout Garage. I started WGWG because I wanted to create a place where people could come to accomplish their health and fitness goals.
I wanted to create a platform both online and in-person where I can give people honest feedback in order to get people the results they want. Growing up I tried every nutrition and fitness regimen in search of the "perfect body." I did everything from going to the gym, two times a day, to obsessively tracking food, over-consuming crappy protein supplements, to the point where I was peeing blood for a year and it hurt to go to the bathroom!

Willow Glen Workout Garage isn't a big box gym, it's a private facility nestled in your own backyard. Willow Glen Workout Garage first came to mind after seeing a BMW commercial highlighting great ideas and inventions. Apple, Disney, and Google were all created and developed in a garage. It ignited a desire to start a business in the place I grew up in as kid.

1-on-1 Personal Training is for individuals who are looking to train privately in person at the Willow Glen Workout Garage facility. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, a personal trainer can keep you accountable for achieving your unique goals by instilling the best program designed for you.
You will receive the individual attention you need to achieve your goals via accountability, guidance, support, & proper planning along with insuring you doing the movements properly.You will build confidence through training and be able to take the principles of fitness and movement, and apply them to your everyday life and workouts for a lifetime.

The best analogy I have for you in regards to working with a nutrition coach, is to imagine yourself needing help to find directions to a destination. Nutrition coaches are comparable to a GPS, in that they guide you on how to get to your chosen destination. But what does a GPS need in order to get you to your destination.? Correct!

Took quite a few training sessions here with Michelle who did a great job: she catered to my goals, was flexible and forgiving with my schedule and any changes to it, didnt try to sell anything I dont need and pushed me just enough to keep me at my limits. The gym as such is very well provided for, is clean, spacious and the yard is a great idea and most of the time it is just you training. The big box stores are racing to the bottom, avoid their crowds, rip offs and get a trainer here!

I've had a really great experience working out at this place for the past few months! Started coming here for evening group classes in the outdoor area for a few weeks - the classes are pretty small and being outside makes me feel comfortable working out without my mask on. The equipment is sanitized after use. Everyone is really friendly and the sessions are really fun.
Have also had experience doing 1-1 sessions with Michelle, who is AMAZING. Ive never done personal training before and she has made our sessions a real highlight of my day everytime I go! I have noticed changes in not only

Matt's approach is personable. He provides detailed suggestions based on one's goals and fitness level.
I love Fiona's Weight Training classes. The warm-up exercises and weight training circuits are written on the board before the class commences. These help get an idea of how the class is structured.
Fiona corrects form whenever required and adjusts the exercise to suit one's limitations (example: I have a right runner's knee and she provides alternate exercises to the ones listed on the board). Fiona is patient and great with monitoring progress. She provides a demo

Matt's place is a true no judgement zone, well except for when it comes to your form - he will judge and correct that!
He truly listens to your feedback (and in my case constant whining) and adjust the workouts to make sure you get as much as possible out of them, without taking unnecessary risks.
I refer to my sessions with Matt as therapy appointments - they helped me not only get back on track and move again (despite my unusually crappy back) but also helped me get through some not so happy times over the past few months.

Love Matt. He's incredibly kind and empathetic, and great at tailoring the workout for the person. I used to be fit, but have become so out shape I was nervous about going to a trainer. He was very patient, figure if out how to get me back in shape without discouraging me. He plays music he knows you'll like, and is very easy to talk to. His gym is impeccably clean, and he's very professional. It's a bonus that he's a great cook and great with nutrition, so can help with that too. And he's right in Willow Glen, so very easy to get to.

Matt is an excellent personal trainer. He is thorough, adaptable, and really makes an effort to ensure that his clients understand what is being taught.
My situation was a little bit weird, as my request was that he just come by and teach me some of the basics for using the machines in my apartment complex's gym. Matt (correctly) noted that what I needed to get started was a stretching routine, which helped me gain the flexibility and confidence to move onto a more meaningful workout routine.

If you are looking for a very personal approach to personal training with someone who really customizes a plan to what you are looking to achieve, Matt's your man. The Workout Garage is a great spot to workout - it is stocked with all the standard gear needed for training including a squat rack, dumbbells, a TRX, and even a running bungee cord!

I signed my 15 year old son up with Matthew for a basketball camp this summer. It was so much more than just basketball. Matthew and Ben introduced my son to weight lifting, agilities, and stressed the importance of having fun. They made it very interactive, gave out prizes, and did it all with a positive attitude. My son plays high school basketball, and now uses what he calls his "Matthew techniques" in his daily basketball practices. I highly recommend utilizing Matthew as a trainer at his amazing 5 star workout garage!

Coming to this camp was amazing. It was so much fun! The teamwork was great and everyone helped each other out. Matt & Ben were awesome!!! They have energy, passion, conviction and love what they do!! I totally agree that If you love what you do you will never work a day in your life. Matt is very personal and helpful, love his one on one training style. He helps with eating advice and life style change. He really cares about his clients.i have been working with Matt for five months and everyone that's knows me have noticed difference on my body and gave me a lots of compliments .I love to see how my body is changing without Matt's help i still be a big fat girl on treadmill at the corner in the gym .
