Our brand new recipes for the USDA Black Label Breads have received an unprecedented success upon their recent launch. Yes, they make wider sandwiches. Yes, they are organic and made of non-gmo ingredients. Yes, they meet and even surpass the USDA guidelines. Alvarado Street Bakery is a worker-owned cooperative, managed entirely by the member-owners who work there.
Each worker is an owner and 100% committed to delivering the best organic breads possible for the pleasure of the customers and the success of the bakery. It is a symbiosis that creates a win-win-win situation between the workers, the consumers, and the vendors.

Services
Alvarado Street Bakery is truly one of a kind. We were baking organic breads in the seventies when the term organic was not well known or sought after. We were well ahead of our time when we decided to make all of our products free of GMO ingredients. From our humble beginnings to the large co-op we now are, Alvarado Street Bakery continues to have an excellent reputation among its industry peers, vendors, and loyal customers.
At Alvarado Street Bakery, we do not only bake delicious organic bread products; we support the movement toward farming practices that sustain soil fertility naturally and eliminate the use of toxic farm chemicals. We strive to use as many organically grown ingredients as possible. It is our strong belief that, by supporting organic farming, we are enhancing the health of our customers and workers while protecting our precious environment.
We look forward to building a mutually beneficial relationship with your company. For nearly 40 years Alvarado Street Bakery has been leading the way in setting high standards for delicious, healthy, and organic whole grain breads. Our bread products are sold in quality stores across the United States.
I love having your energy squares toasted w/a little bit of butter and natural peanut butter so yummy! I get these at Sam's Club all the time! The sprouted energy bars are delicious, hard to find, when we find them, we buy them all and freeze them, usually on 2 or 3 packs at a time. We just tried your sprouted hot dog buns, they were great also.
When Scott Shriver started in 2004, he knew this was going to be a long term career. As one of our Territory Sales Managers, he meets with lots of enthusiastic fans of Alvarado breads. His personal favorites are the California Style Buns, the Energy Squares, the Sprouted Sonoma Sun Bread, and the new Black Label Breads.

Tasted old bread. Had been on shelf for long time. Purchased at local Safeway, Foster City on 05/08 and the sticker indicated expire/ best by 05/10. Produced on Julian Calendar 121 days. Took 1 week to deliver from Petaluma to local stores. Petaluma is only 75 minutes away. Please explain your wisdom on logistics. Went to foster city Safeway on 05/05 and sticker indicated expire/ best by 05/06.
