Class meets in the hall with abundant space for proper distancing. Discussions begin with sustaining and deepening one's meditation practice, the yoga sutras, thinking into being, creating our own reality or living fully and dying gently. We wish you health as you keep your yoga and meditation practices strong at home during this uncertain time.
The mind hoards memories and interpretations of situations-both of questionable veracity. When we don't know how, when, or why something occurred, the mind tends to automatically fill in the unknown circumstances with its own concocted set of facts. With this "knowledge" of unknown provenance, the mind creates filters through which we then perceive a distorted reality, easily forgetting the source of this perception is largely illusory.

The Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center first opened its doors in 1984. At the Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center we believe that the answers to all questions lie within us and are accessible through the practices of daily meditation and yoga. For the last 35 years, it has been our purpose to share this understanding and the benefits of these practices with all who attend our center.
Co-founder, executive director and principal instructor of the Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center, Janaki Pierson presents seminars on: Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Stress Management, Death and Dying/Life and Living, Elementary Sanskrit, and Thinking Into Being: Creating Your Own Reality. Ms. Pierson has been teaching meditation for over 40 years and has been established in her own daily practice for 45 years.
We would like to update our yoga class and yoga center publicity photographs - seeking volunteers with photography skills! I had been searching for a place where I would be able to do Yoga, and I wanted an environment that would inspire my mind, my body, and my soul. Living with a chronic illness I knew I needed a place where I could be myself, feel comfortable, and help to maintain that delicate balance.
Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center is about helping you improve and make changes in your life through the practice of Yoga and Mediation, inside and outside the Yoga center. Our teachers lead classes that call on the body, breath and mind to work as one.
They lead you through a balanced practice of yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and mindfulness techniques (samyama) to improve your body physically and also create a sense of inner peace. So grab a friend, a water bottle, a yoga mat (we have plenty you can borrow if you don't have your own) and join us for a Free Yoga Class!
