COR was founded by Dr. John Mullen, renowned physical therapist, strength coach, and performance enhancement specialist, who has worked with organizations such as Stanford, Purdue, and many other elite colleges. After years of helping professional athletes return from injury, enhance their performance, and excel at their sport, he was determined to create a similar environment for the general public.
Disappointed with the traditional physical therapy clinic and fitness environments, he sought to recreate the integrated sports medicine model used to enhance performance by creating a hybrid model of rehabilitation, biomechanical assessment, adult fitness, and performance enhancement training in an environment that is suitable for all ages and activity levels.

Years ago, as I worked with my active adults and athletes, I found a common theme in their injuries. When they were injured, they would go to the doctor and were told to stop training, take medication, or have an injection. These were all short term fixes. When they went back to their training after these interventions, the pain came right back.

Dr. Erin is great! I did the boot camp class and got a really great workout in. She pushes you but also gives each person attention to avoid injury.
The COR swimming analysis includes underwater analysis, corrective drills, corrective exercises, and a detailed plan to improve your performance, injuries, or efficiency. Our world-renowned staff has worked with elite athletes and is up-to-date with the current research. From the phone call to when you enter COR, you'll be greeted by a friendly, positive staff.
At COR, we want to maximize your time with us. Have in writing key past medical history, previous treatments, current medications, and other important information. You will register with our friendly front office staff. They will help you navigate the insurance process and treatment program so you can focus on your recovery.

I got a lower back pain last year on and off. I got recovered quite a lot with Dr Katrina, got pretty positive and started with my usual workout too soon and regressed back after a few long jogging. Then I continued treatment with Dr Harrison. The intensiveness from jogging or other activities seems to have triggered pain/strain with some other areas and Dr Harrison was able to figure them out every time, and come up with corresponding exercises with right intensity to help strengthening those areas. He was very patient for all my questions and closely monitoring different situations and any progress

I had a lower back and waist pain since months. I thought it would heal automatically. But I was wrong. It just kept on getting worse. That's when I decided to get professional help. I searched for physical therapy centre nearby and COR came up at the top. I immediately took an appointment and I was assigned Dr. Ian Palmer. He took time to listen and understand my problem and made sure that he made me comfortable while treating. He prescribed me all kinds of exercise which were really helpful and mitigated my pain. And the massages on my back were equally soothing and helpful. I totally recommend

I have my knee pain recently and I have my right shoulder pain for 5 years at least. Before I saw Dr. Ian in November 2021 for my knee pain and my right shoulder pain I was not thinking of getting back normal life as it used to be. I used to play ping pong and badminton regularly. When Dr. Ian asked me what is my goal of the therapy, I said I want to be able to play ping pong again. You will be able to play ping pong again, that was his answer. Now it is the last day of 2021, two months only, my left knee pain is manageable and I was able to sleep without pain on my knee, and I was playing tennis

A few weeks later, after a mobility assessment and multiple therapy sessions, I went back to the gym with Justyn, who taught me the basics of Olympic weightlifting. After he moved to his next play, I started training with Priscila, who has been amazing. She is very dedicated, detail-oriented, and always makes sure I execute the exercises with the proper technique and weight.

I totally recommend Cor and personally Andres for personal training... I stopped working out regularly when I had a kid, the next thing you know she's 10 years old and I'm 40. I knew I needed to workout and learn how to workout again now that I'm older and the way I worked out when I was younger wouldn't work... I have been going to COR boot camp for many years.The boot camp program helped me stay fit and work hard toward specific/narrow short-term goals that are stepping stones to achieve my long-term fitness goals. One thing that I can only find here at COR is amazing COR community. If you are looking for an elite level training, Dr John & his staff can provide what you are looking for. My two kids, competitive swimmers(now collegiate swimmers) have been regularly going to COR for physical therapy, strength training and performance assessment. Highly recommended!

I have been going to COR for past 8-9 years for boot camp. They are an excellent and knowledgeable team. Bootcamps routines are well designed and engage pretty much every key muscle of the body. I would attribute my good health to regular bootcamps.

I have been attending COR from last 6 months and more. I am really enjoying and very satisfied with all the staff and definitely a very experienced and Motivational Coach" Joseph" who always help you and push you to find out your strength. I improved a lot.....on my strength and
fitness. COR also work beyond the training center. there are once/twice monthly hike, celebrating festivals and work out challenge's too. its Amazing experience. I like to see my self here as a permanent member of COR :-) I highly recommended.

Jennifer is fantastic. I developed frozen shoulder after falling from a bike ride. I saw another PT before reaching out to Jennifer with COR. My 1st PT wasn't helpful at all and I stopped seeing the 1st PT. Then my shoulder got worst and I needed to see PT again and COR was recommended by my friends. Jennifer treated me and now my shoulder is 99% recovered.

John is amazing! He and his crew exceeded my expectations especially in comparison to my past experiences with PT (4 other places over the years). Most places just do the same ol' thing over and over without really analyzing what is and is not working. I believe they are taught one thing in school and are afraid to deviate. This type of physical therapy is so limiting as everyone and every injury is different. John is not like that at all. He REALLY listens to you and is so knowledgeable that he can alter treatments and exercises to fit your individual needs. His incredible understanding

I came in due to a running injury and figured I'd have to take months before I could get out on the road. Dr. Kneeskern set me up with a great regimen and helped me slowly get back on the road within weeks. 2 months later I'm probably in the best running shape I've been in a long time.

So glad I found COR. I was looking for personal training since I have a hard time getting myself motivated. Andres Uribe is one of the personal trainers at COR and he is awesome. He prepares a personalized routine prior to the training session and walks me through each exercise to ensure my form is correct. He is very professional and knowledgeable and makes each workout fun. I would highly recommend anyone looking for personal training to try out COR.

I honestly cannot imagine where I would be without COR. I stumbled across this place while I was looking into possible gyms through my Active & Fit Lifestyles Membership options. I called and someone explained that there was this wonderful opportunity to try 6 weeks of boot camp for $69. But the best part about this was you are eligible for one free boot camp class.
I showed up on Friday at noon, for Justin's class. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are weight lifting circuits you work on your own (with the guidance of a trainer). I left sore, exhausted, but also determined to check out Saturday

Updated Aug 2019. COR is a great gym with an impressive community. I have attended the 530 am bootcamp class for 2 years. The morning exercise class is a great way to start the day, and I always look forward to bootcamp with Dr. John! The activities range from strength training with personalized worksheets to endurance days with HIIT. They are always changing up the exercises, so something new is always sore :-) COR is great for all levels - they cater to each individual. I highly recommend COR, it will improve your life!!

I saw Dr. Sam for physical therapy for plantar fasciitis and he is fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, and really listens to understand the issue so he can get at the root of it to treat the source and not just the symptom. I am back to running and wearing sandals and walking barefoot with no pain. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for PT.
As a side note, all the staff were friendly, offering water or a seat any time I was there. And the few times I had to bring my children, they were welcomed and treated kindly as well.

COR provides great workouts for all levels. I regularly attend one of the boot camps and have also used the physical therapy services. The workouts are adapted to meet your goals with a focus on building core strength at the beginning.
The physical therapy is top notch; you won't find anyone better than Dr. John and Dr. Erin.
It's a friendly place and Chris makes the 5:30am boot camp fun
Update: I just had a massage from Ben. It's a serious, deep tissue massage and not for the faint of heart. Don't expect lavender and candles; due expect to leave feeling like every muscle

This is a great place for both your medical conditions as well as group workouts. I first visited @COR when I had ankle sprain. I was treated by Dr. Erin and Dr. John, both of whom are experts in this field. What makes COR special is the care and attention you get from your doctor. After completing my sessions I joined CoR fitness classes which are in a group workout format. It's similar to CrossFit except for the risk of injury. I train with Coach Mike who is exceptionally brilliant at the coaching. I would recommend this place if you are looking for recovery from injuries or love working out

I was recently involved in a skateboarding accident in San Jose that caused me to have surgery. This was not a fund time and I was out of commission for a few months. I had been going to physical therapy, but needed something more intense. I searched around and found COR in Santa Clara, near my house. They were able to help stretch me and adjust me in new ways that helped alleviate my back and shoulder pain. I am grateful for COR's physical therapy program. Hopefully i will not need to be back, but if I do I know where to go.

I had heard exercise stimulates the production "happy" hormones in your brain; COR brings them out to action. I've never seen the trainers so passionate for the health and wellbeing of their customers. When it comes to the customer service, the entire staff at COR is excellent.

I do personal training with Chris, who is awesome. And the personal training sessions are only $40 each, which is sort of unprecedentedly low price. He knows a ton about form (he's a professional, after all) and can troubleshoot all your muscular imbalances without you even telling him first.
I also take boot camp about 3 days a week with Michael at 6:30pm. Those classes are full-body and really hit both

I've been searching for an exercise program that works for me for quite some time, and I always end up dropping it because the people aren't friendly (or they're just really intimidating), or because the trainers have too many people in the class to watch for form and provide modifications for injuries. I'm probably like most people -- I can do basic cardio, but strength training and anything involving weights is kind of a mystery.
