The way people feel- on the inside and out- is my top priority. Having been in the healthcare profession for over 14 years, as a physical trainer, bodyworker, and health coach, I make it my aim to help others get the most out of their bodies, physiologies, and minds. I have been a physical trainer for 15 years, a bodyworker and health coach the past 10.
Training with biomechanics takes into account your current position in space and how your body adapts to physical circumstances. As an example, lets say you have arthritis of the knees. Arthritis occurs because of joint friction, excessive rubbing of bone on bone. What happens if by training your legs properly, we could remove the bone on bone rubbing?
The human body has ~206 bones, ~350 joints, and more than 650 muscles. Simply put, our joints evolved over thousands of years. It took time in order for our hands, fingers, toes, hip, jaws, and everything else to develop the motion that it has. Fast forward to today and our joints aren't getting the love, care, and respect they so rightfully earned.

Rob is an intuitive healer/ trainer. I came to Rob with heaps of pain in my neck/ arms and back. After struggling with Thoracic outlet syndrome for 5 years Rob was able to help get me out of pain within only a couple months of functional training. I was a NCAA DIVISION 1 track and field athlete and Rob is by far the most intelligent trainer I have ever met. His approach is holistic and his banter is good as well. It is very easy for me to write that learning and working with Rob has been one of the greatest blessings of my athletic life.

I've been working with Rob for the past eight months and have felt transformed by our experience together. After years of participating in group fitness classes that were fun but often left me physically depleted or in pain, Rob has begun to undo years of degeneration with his holistic, precise, and individualized approach to fitness.
Our workouts are always extremely dynamic and variable. I leave invigorated rather than exhausted, and he gives me empowering tools and simple exercises to take into the rest of my life. Whether we're doing breathwork, dynamic movement, or massage, I always feel

Rob is a terrific personal trainer and I recommend him highly. He's very skilled at training remotely, supervises workouts that safely improve your strength and range of motion after injury, and has seamlessly replaced my in-person gym trainer. Plus, he's a super nice guy.

I started working with Rob @ train rugged earlier this year and have really been enjoying the experience. Rob is a great communicator and he really knows the body and understands it. The workout approach is different than the more traditional approach of weight lifting and I LOVE IT!! It’s awesome. If I could give rob and his training 50 ⭐️ I would!

(A more thorough description is below) For somebody seeking to train/ build their body in an intelligent and effective manner, look no further than Rob. I’m an aging adult who still works and likes to feel good, and I also enjoy being around people who are easy to talk to, have a sense of humor, and are competent in what they do. Rob checks all the boxes and so many more. He is empathic, wise, and cares about his clients. If you live in Santa Barbara and are looking for training, exercise, massage or physical therapy or any sort of body intelligence work you’ve got to work with him.

Rob is an enlivening person to be with who brings his presence, understanding, and expertise to each of our body sessions. More thorough and rewarding than PT or traditional exercise, his training is both vigorous and mindful. He teaches his clients to dial in their awareness and how to make long lasting physical change. As someone who wants to be able to stay healthy and still be active I appreciate his continuity and holistic approach. 6 years with him I feel less pain in my body, am aging with greater ease, and growing muscle instead of atrophying away. Best of all he is straight forward and

I've been working with Rob for about 7 months now, and it's been a wonderful experience! At first I was a little skeptical how personal training over Zoom would go. But he did not disappoint! His verbal instruction has helped me become more aware of my body and its movements. And his personalized work out plans have helped me become stronger with a (much needed) dash of self-confidence. As an added bonus, he also has great suggestions for anyone interested in integrating healthy eating habits to coincide with their exercises! 10/10 would recommend!

Rob is the most knowledgeable person about the kinetic chains in the body that I've ever met (I've worked with multiple trainers). Every exercise and stretch he gives you works multiple parts of the body, so you can do more in less time. He is also easy to work with, thinks about you individually, and is really concerned about your health and well-being. His routines are tailored to your goals and what you need. Plus he works virtually, with a minimal amount of equipment, which is perfect for COVID!

I’ve worked with excellent trainers in the past, but Rob’s depth of knowledge and his talent for this work are truly extraordinary. He quickly gains an understanding of what your strengths and vulnerabilities are and designs workouts that are effective but never boring. He builds on foundational principles of natural law and varies the exercises we do each time. He seems to figure out almost instantly where a problem area is and then modify an exercise to accommodate / support it and eventually help to solve it.
I found Rob because I was plateauing in my physical health and found myself getting
