Before starting personal training sessions with Rachel, I was a binge eater, I was weak, and I suffered from constant migraines, lethargy, insomnia and poor self esteem. But since starting my three-times-a-week 30-minute no-fat-shaming sessions with Rachel a year ago, I'm stronger, more energetic, and my aerobic capacity has greatly improved.

I chose Rachel last year when I was looking for a trainer who was authentically body positive. As a very large, more than middle-aged woman, who is physically “pfft” I really needed a safe space to help me slowly dip my toe in the water of regular exercise. Rachel has been a godsend! After eight months of just twice a week sessions, I really notice the difference— with less pain and more strength in my every day activities. She makes it fun and stress-free even as she motivates me to work hard. I never thought I would be able to keep a consistent exercise program going, but I am! Do yourself

Rachel is amazing! After the governor issued the stay at home order, she immediately, and I mean instantly, worked out a way to continue her classes online! I participated in the first one this morning and it was great! She put the same enthusiasm into every routine as she does when she has people in the studio! I'm so happy that I can continue the exercise routine at home! Thank you Rachel!

If I could create my ideal exercise studio in my imagination, I'd create Fitness with Rachel, and then move it closer to my house. The dance classes are fun, the music is lively, and Rachel is great at cueing the movements as you go. She's also an extraordinary dancer, which is a fun bonus. (Gives me happy memories of trekking in to see Broadway shows as a teenager in New Jersey -- there was always that one dancer you couldn't stop watching, because they were so expressive and alive in the part).
The vibe is welcoming and accepting, so it's safe to try all kinds of classes

A friend recommended Fitness with Rachel to me because I was having a hard time finding a FUN and low-impact aerobics class in Goleta. FwR has been perfect!
Keep in mind that this is a small one-studio business and NOT a gym. There are (I am assuming quite deliberately) NO mirrors. The interior is very plain...no distractions. The music selection is great and rotated regularly. Rachel is a great dancer and is always smiling.
The 9am class is primarily an older group and very welcoming to all ages and body types.
The cost of classes is a bit more than a gym membership, but Rachel has

I've been going to Rachel's Tabata Express classes for about 2 years now and I just love them! Every week is different, the classes are challenging but doable and Rachel is great about explaining the exercises, watching your form and offering modifications. There is a little 1-minute game in the middle that is a nice break and is often quite fun/silly. Rachel is very personable and everyone is friendly, so it's enjoyable even at 6:15 am!
I love the 30 minute format as it works great for my schedule and still gives me a good workout. I've struggled with my weight most

I would recommend Fitness with Rachel to anyone who wants a great workout in a short amount of time. The sessions are 30 minutes in length with a variety of classes to choose from. You’ll enjoy the variety of music and the personal attention in a small class. Do give Rachel a try , you’ll not be disappointed.

I first visited Rachel's studio for Tabata classes after winning discounted services for a raffle. I liked the classes (small, intimate size; challenging but not to the point where it's frustrating). However, since I live downtown and she's out in Goleta, I didn't imagine that I'd become a regular and I didn't figure there was much point in exploring the other workouts. Then Rachel participated in a Free Fitness Friday at Paseo Nuevo which gave a sampling of her classes (strength training, dance, and foam rolling) and although I'm not at all a dancer, her energy

What an awesome Zumba class! I feel so good after Zumba tonight! I have taken a few classes, and this one is the best for a few reasons: The time of the classes are perfect, there is lots of space to move, the music choices were tasteful and not too loud, the instruction was easy to follow and a perfect level of challenge, and the teacher is very connected to the students and gives out great energy! I can't wait for the next class! Thank you Rachel!
