You've probably seen me around town. It's likely I've seen you. Isn't it time we got together for a workout? A certified Corrective Exercise Specialist and personal fitness trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as a certified Group X instructor and Spin teacher with Fitour, I'm also a licensed Livestrong instructor, and fully accredited Aquatics teacher.

When I'm not in the gym, you'll probably find me running or biking along the city's scenic coastal routes, deep ocean swimming at its beaches, or hiking on the front and back country trails. My energy matches my fitness level, and I want you to feel the same way.

Karen makes it easy to stick to a routine. She brings all the equipment we need to workout in my backyard. I'm recuperating from a tibia fracture, and she's taught me exercises I can do between sessions, too. She's cheerful and encouraging and I enjoy the variety of things we do.

I have been going to Karen's classes at the COAC now for over six months and have loved the personal attention she gives. She works the class so that everyone's needs are met. She is so friendly. She makes a point of knowing your name and working with the goals you want to achieve.

Really awesome and fun workouts! Karen’s workouts are often custom tailored to the groups needs and level. She is super knowledgeable, and able to determine the level and needs of the group and adjust on the fly.
Really great at providing a fitness routine that we wouldn’t do on our own, with out over-taxing those who might be just starting out with fitness after a hiatus.

I’ve been training with Karon for about 6 months now, and believe she is one of the most experienced & committed trainers around. I started training every other week, as part of a group session, really enjoyed the variety & challenge she put into the sessions!
She ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries. If I felt uncomfortable doing something because of my knee problem she would always come up with some alternative set of exercises.
Now I do training twice a week, my fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen improvements in my ability to complete more sit ups

I started personal training with Karen a couple of months ago, and I have fallen back in love with fitness! She is well-knowledgeable, encouraging, and hilarious. I have a blast working out with her! After a total knee replacement (TKR) and the 2.5 month follow-up with a professional physical therapist, I really needed MORE in order to recuperate and rehabilitate my knee particularly, but, also, my entire body that had declined to knee pain and lack of mobility.
We (Karen concurrently works with my wife each session) found "Kardio with Karen" and decided to work with Karen at home right in the middle of the pandemic. The initial plan was to have Karen's training for a month - or, maybe, two. Well, here it is ten (10) months later and we are still training with Karen two or three times per

I really appreciate how knowledgeable Karen is relative to the mechanics of the body. Whether she is telling you to do a particular plank or stretch, she gives you a quick explanation why and what muscles are being used and stretched. Karen is cheerful in her delivery which really helps when you don't think you can hold that plank for another second!
I would highly recommend Karen to anyone who is looking to get in better shape. I feel stronger in my core and my clothes are fitting so much better!

I'd like to offer an enthusiastic recommendation for Karen. We met at the Y when I attended her bootcamp sessions which were awesome - fun, challenging, and always incorporating multiple exercises and alternatives to suit specific needs. I was sufficiently impressed to then move on to personal training with Karen, which is a blast. She knows her stuff for sure. She takes the time to plan the sessions in advance and keeps them focused on goals and respectful of any health issue or limitation. We have a lot of fun and the workout is great. I've been meaning to do something to get back to 'normal' following an injury, but found copious and plentiful reasons not to do so. My last excuse - actually leaving the house - disappeared when I found Karen. She comes to you, with weights and bands and exercise balls, oh my; and helps you design a program that enables you to get fit at home. I really liked her enthusiasm and passion, and she has a plethora of ideas about how very small changes in your behavior and attitude can make you feel so much better and so much more in control of your body. Now I walk to the store or ride
